Robert's Testimony
After the tsunami of December 3, 2020, I came to the realization: total loss of both my legs' usage, the closing of my company, explosion of my relashionship and finally, living an unwanted life. This leap into the void created the feeling of being alone in the world and inevitably, panic set in. After a while, we are faced with two choices, either we let go and watch life unfold before our eyes or we take charge. Believing in your abilities is the first thing to do, in my opinion. Then, looking for tools to improve your quality of life is the second thing to do. Going to the FSWC QC center was one of the first actions I took to change things. After an evaluation, the team at the center established a strategy to push my physical limits and in a very short time, the results were apparent. I increased my physical strength, boosted my energy, improved my balance and all this in a month and a half.
Thank you to the FSWC Quebec Center and I will continue!
- Robert Daigle, May 8, 2022
We are very pleased to present the TVA Nouvelles report (French) on our center published on April 24th.
Robert, one of our first clients recently moved from St-Hyacinthe to Sherbrooke to follow the functional recovery program and the functional electrical stimulation bike program full time.
We also have a video of his 27th therapy session when he was able to move his foot with his will for the first time in 2 years. He also gives his testimony from his 10th therapy session.
He also confided to one of our members that he succeeded in fastening his belt in a cab by himself, he succeeded in putting on his coat by himself although he could not do so when he started coming to our center in early March.
All nice little achievements that lead to more freedom.

Isabelle's Testimony, diagnosed as having a multiple sclerosis
A few weeks ago, I started my Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) bike adventure, accompanied by a professional and caring team. I have already seen changes! My gait is improving, I feel better in my body and in my head, and as a bonus, some of my muscles are getting better defined. This process helps me to accept my illness and encourages my social exchanges by having weekly meetings with people who are also experiencing challenges. |
Jessica's Testimony for William
William spent 4 weeks at FSWC Quebec. He made gains in core tone mainly and also in the use of his right upper limb, which he seems to have a better awareness of. What I have also noticed is that his confidence in his abilities has increased. He is trying out some movements more on his own and initiating some activities on his own instead of having the adult do it for him. Thank you to the whole team for this beautiful 4 weeks, your approach through play has allowed my son to enjoy these 3 hours of training session per day. You love children and this is reflected in your interventions. For us parents of children with disabilities, the lack of daily engagement of our commies is a problem, and this 4 week training block makes a difference. In an ideal world, these daily workouts would be the norm! Thank you for everything and I hope to see you soon. |
